RidgePoint Performance Medicine

Our Team

Specialists in sports medicine, rehabilitation, and manual therapy — united by a shared commitment to doing what's right for every patient.

Physician-Led

Every patient begins with a sports medicine physician evaluation. Diagnosis first — treatment follows from a clear clinical picture.

Coordinated

The team communicates directly. One shared plan — no siloed providers working in parallel without knowing what each other is doing.

Patient-Centered

We hire clinicians who genuinely care about outcomes — not throughput. Every provider at RidgePoint is here because they believe in doing things the right way.

Dr. Eric Anderson, MD

Sports Medicine Physician

Dr. Anderson is a board-certified sports medicine physician with over 15 years of experience in non-surgical orthopedic care. He studied Kinesiology at the University of Colorado Boulder, earned his medical degree from Oregon Health & Science University, and completed an active-duty Air Force residency in Family Medicine at Travis Air Force Base. After fulfilling his service commitment at Fairchild Air Force Base in Spokane, he went on to complete a primary care sports medicine fellowship at the Idaho Sports Medicine Institute in 2008.

Dr. Anderson spent over 14 years in the Orthopedics and Sports Medicine department at Rockwood Clinic before transitioning to private practice. Throughout his career, he has served as a team physician for local high schools, Eastern Washington University, and the Spokane Shock, and has been part of the US Ski Team physician pool. He specializes in sports-related injuries, musculoskeletal conditions, and care for active adults of all ages.

A former competitive road cyclist and freestyle skier, Dr. Anderson understands what it means to stay active — and what it takes to get back there. Outside the clinic, he enjoys spending time with his wife and two daughters.

"The right diagnosis changes everything. We can't build a meaningful plan without it."

Dr. Robert Friendt, DC

Doctor of Chiropractic

Dr. Friendt brings over a decade of clinical experience to RidgePoint, including years working directly alongside orthopedic surgeons and sports medicine physicians in the Houston Medical Center — one of the largest and most complex medical environments in the United States. That background shaped his clinical precision, his collaborative instincts, and his ability to function within a high-stakes, team-based care environment.

A former Division I pole vaulter and decathlete at the University of Minnesota, Dr. Friendt understands athletic performance and injury from the inside out. He earned his Doctorate from Texas Chiropractic College and built his clinical career treating elite athletes, surgical patients, and complex MSK cases alongside orthopedic and sports medicine teams.

Dr. Friendt's practice is grounded in hands-on manual therapy and corrective exercise — not spinal manipulation or adjustments. He uses precise soft tissue techniques to address the underlying drivers of pain and dysfunction, and pairs that work with corrective exercise so results carry forward between sessions. His training includes the Fascial Distortion Model, which informs how he assesses and interprets each patient's presentation.

"The body tells you exactly what it needs — if you know how to listen to how a patient describes their pain."

Reece Van Lierop

Rehab Specialist

A Spokane native, Reece earned his degree in Applied Kinesiology from Corban University where he developed a deep foundation in human movement, biomechanics, and exercise science. He joined RidgePoint with a clear vision: to build a clinic where rehabilitation is done right — grounded in clinical reasoning, connected to a physician-led team, and focused on functional outcomes that actually matter to patients.

Reece specializes in bridging the critical gap between receiving a diagnosis and achieving long-term function. He builds progressive, individualized rehab programs based on each patient's movement patterns, goals, and clinical presentation — not templates. His patients consistently report that he listens carefully, explains things clearly, and pushes them to achieve more than they thought possible.

Outside the clinic, Reece stays active and maintains a deep connection to the Spokane community — which shapes how he understands what staying active really means to the people he works with.

"Getting out of pain is the start. Building the capacity to stay out of pain — that's the real work."

Specialties
Corrective exercise & movement rehab
Return-to-sport progressions
Strength & performance training
Functional movement assessment
Post-injury reconditioning
Approach

Movement-based. Outcome-focused. Every program is built around where you want to be — not where you started.
