RidgePoint Performance Medicine

Our Services

An integrated team of specialists — sports medicine, rehabilitation, manual therapy, and procedural care — all working from a single, coordinated plan.

01

Sports Medicine

Sports Medicine MD / DO

Every RidgePoint patient begins with a comprehensive Sports Medicine evaluation. This is where the right diagnosis is established before any treatment begins — ensuring your care plan is grounded in an accurate clinical picture, not assumptions.

Our sports medicine physician leads the diagnostic process and provides medical oversight for all patients, coordinating with the rest of the care team to build an individualized plan aligned with your goals.

Conditions We Evaluate & Manage

Muscle strains & tears
Ligament sprains
Tendinopathy & tendinitis
Stress fractures
Overuse & repetitive injuries
Knee pain (patellofemoral, meniscus)
Shoulder pain & instability
Hip pain & dysfunction
Ankle & foot injuries
Neck & back pain
Concussion management
Pre-participation physicals
What to Expect

A thorough history, physical examination, and discussion of your goals. We order imaging when clinically indicated — not reflexively.

Our Approach

Non-operative first. Procedures and surgery are tools of last resort, not the default path.

02

Rehabilitation & Corrective Exercise

Rehab Specialist

Rehabilitation at RidgePoint goes beyond passive treatment. We build structured, progressive programs designed to address the root cause of your dysfunction — not just manage the symptoms.

Our rehab specialist works directly from the physician's assessment to develop programs that are personalized to your movement patterns, goals, and timeline. The goal is always functional — getting you back to the things you care about.

What Rehabilitation Addresses

Movement dysfunction
Strength & stability deficits
Post-injury recovery
Post-surgical rehab
Return-to-sport progressions
Return-to-work capacity
Chronic pain reconditioning
Neuromuscular re-education
Functional movement correction
Home program development

The Difference Here

Rehabilitation at RidgePoint is physician-directed and outcomes-focused. Your rehab specialist collaborates directly with the sports medicine physician — there's no gap between your diagnosis and your treatment. Progress is tracked, programs evolve as you improve, and the end goal is always clear.

Manual Therapy & Corrective Exercise

Hands-On Treatment.
Lasting Results.

03

Manual Therapy & Corrective Exercise

Dr. Robert Friendt, DC

Dr. Friendt's approach is built on hands-on manual therapy and corrective exercise — not spinal manipulation or adjustments. He uses precise soft tissue techniques to identify and address the underlying drivers of pain and movement restriction, tailored to each patient's individual presentation.

Manual therapy here is not passive care. Every session is paired with corrective exercise so that the work done with his hands carries forward — building real, lasting change rather than temporary relief.

Techniques & Applications

Soft tissue manual therapy
Corrective exercise prescription
Movement pattern retraining
Pain pattern assessment
Muscle & connective tissue work
Acute & chronic MSK conditions
Sports & activity-related injuries
Post-injury & post-surgical care

Manual Therapy + Corrective Exercise

Dr. Friendt's manual therapy work is paired with corrective exercise prescription — so the changes made during a session are reinforced by purposeful movement. The goal is lasting structural resolution, not just session-to-session relief.

04

Exercise & Performance

Exercise Specialist / Rehab Specialist

Once pain is managed and movement is restored, the work isn't over. Exercise and performance programming builds the long-term resilience that keeps patients from coming back with the same problem.

This isn't generic gym programming. It is evidence-based, individually designed training that accounts for your injury history, movement patterns, goals, and lifestyle — whether that's running a race, keeping up with your kids, or getting back to work without pain.

What This Includes

Functional movement screening
Strength & conditioning
Injury prevention programming
Sport-specific training
Load & training management
Mobility & flexibility work
Balance & proprioception
Independent home programs
Who This Is For

Athletes looking to return to peak performance. Adults who want to stay active without recurring injuries. Anyone who wants to build a body that holds up over the long term — not just get through today.

05

Interventional & Procedural Care

PM&R / Sports Medicine Physician

Procedural care is a tool within our conservative framework — not a first resort. When conservative management has been appropriately exhausted or when a targeted intervention can meaningfully accelerate recovery, we offer evidence-based options.

All procedures are physician-performed, with ultrasound guidance where appropriate to ensure precision and safety. We explain the evidence for each option clearly so patients can make informed decisions.

Procedural Options

Ultrasound-Guided Injections

Corticosteroid injections for inflammatory conditions including bursitis, arthritis, and tendinopathy — placed with ultrasound precision for accuracy.

Joint Aspiration & Injection

Drainage and injection for joints with excess fluid accumulation, including knee effusions and bursal swelling.

Trigger Point Injections

Targeted injections into myofascial trigger points for persistent muscle pain that has not responded to manual therapy alone.

Additional Interventions

Depending on your clinical picture, other targeted interventional options may be discussed. All recommendations are made based on your individual presentation and the best available evidence.

Our Standard

We do not perform procedures to generate revenue. If an injection is recommended, it is because the evidence supports it for your specific situation, conservative care has been given a fair trial, and you understand the expected benefit and limitations.
